“I haven’t eaten in 36 hours, so that’s fun. I started water fasting,” Viall said, mentioning that he got the idea from his mother.

However, he warned listeners not to try it just because he discussed it: “I don’t recommend it to anyone [and] this is not some kind of, ‘Do it with me.’ ”

Viall gave reasons why a water cleanse, which consists of nothing but water, bone broth or electrolytes for a week, “should be really healthy.”

“It’s supposed to lower your chances of cancer, it’s supposed to be good for inflammation, it’s supposed to lower your chances of Alzheimer’s and things like that,” he said. “There should be a lot of health benefits to intermittent fasting.”

He started a water cleanse because “I’ve been eating too much sugar lately” and “I don’t think my diet is what it could or should be.”

Instead of doing a full week, he would only participate for four days, but he felt inspired: “It’s a new year, I thought, ‘F— it. If my mom can do it, why can’t I?’ ”

However, he claimed that he had no intention of persuading others to join them.

“Don’t take my recommendations,” he said of his “temporary” lifestyle change. “I’m doing this for myself. I don’t need feedback from any of you listening, good or bad.”

He added that the beginning of water cleaning was the hardest for him.

“It was a tough first night – and I was fine. I’m wonderful right now. Last night was shit,” Viall said as he reflected on his experience so far. “They said the first 24 hours were difficult and I felt very weak and tired.”

Joy also chimed in, adding that she witnessed her husband’s “sacrifice” firsthand.

“I’m also suffering because he’s been nothing but a whore to me all this time,” she teased.

“He’s the hungriest person I’ve ever been with. He is so angry, he is so angry, and I said: ‘You can stop whenever you fucking want!’ ” she said.

According to Health, “Water fasting may have some benefits, but it also comes with risks. You may develop complications such as dehydration, orthostatic hypotension, or hyponatremia. It is important not to follow a water fast without first consulting your doctor.”
