Nick Viall Says He Hopes His Special Forces Experience Will ‘Help Toughen Me Up’ for Fatherhood (Exclusive)

Nick Viall reflects on what it takes to become a dad for the first time.

In an exclusive clip from the upcoming episode Special forces: the toughest test in the worldthe Bachelor The alum, 42, opened up about his incredible participation in the physically and mentally demanding competition reality show.

“I probably definitely shouldn’t be here. There’s nothing about what I’m doing right now that suggests I’m going to do well in this environment,” he admitted.

“But I recently found out I’m going to be a dad, which is amazing. I want to know if he has what it takes to rise to the occasion, and I think this experience will shape me and help make me stronger.”

Nick Viall and Pregnant Fiancée Natalie Joy Can’t Wait for Baby to ‘Feel Loved’ (Exclusive)

The Viall files Podcast host and pregnant fiancée Natalie Joy, 24, shared the gender of her baby on the way in a sweet reveal in September.

Sharing a video of Viall popping a black balloon that sent pink confetti and pink balloons across the room, he wrapped his arms around Joy, who laughed and leaned into him.

“Baby Viall is….🤍,” Joy captioned her post.

In the comments, Viall joked about what his future daughter’s first words might be. “Her first word will be…Boundaries.”

The couple, who got engaged in January, first announced the pregnancy news in August.

Sharing a carousel of photos together on their respective Instagrams, Viall and Joy posed alongside the former Bachelor, putting their arms around and hugging their fiancee’s baby bump. “Our biggest dream has come true 🤍”, they wrote with the post.

The couple spoke exclusively to PEOPLE in August about how Joy told Viall she was pregnant during their daily dinner.

I took two positive pregnancy tests, took some baby clothes and put them in a drawer, knowing that Nick would open it while we were making dinner, Joy said. – He was shocked to say the least.

Special forces: the toughest test in the world airs Mondays at 9pm ET on Fox.
