Nicole Eggert shares insight into the hardest part of her breast cancer journey.
Addressing exclusively to PEOPLE at After Baywatch: A Moment in the Sun premiere in Los Angeles on Monday, Aug. 26, Eggert, 52 — who was diagnosed with stage 2 cribriform breast cancer in December 2023 — revealed that waiting for the next steps in her treatment was “the hardest part.”
“I’m fine,” the actress told PEOPLE of her journey. “I’m in a gray zone and I’m done with treatment, I’m waiting for more filming and hopefully maybe surgery.”
“There’s a lot of waiting involved in this and it’s something that I didn’t really understand and that nobody really talks about,” she adds. “But the gray area is the hardest because you don’t know what’s going on and just being in treatment felt like I was doing something productive.”
Eggert, who produces documentary series for ABC News Studios, continues, “I felt positive and I said, okay, I’m doing something positive. And now that it’s like nothing, it’s like, well, wait a minute. We have to get this out. That’s right, it’s just frustrating.”
