Ahead of the hit reality TV show, Farage said he would give a “definitive answer” in the next 48 hours.

He broke his silence on GB News, saying he was tempted by a mega-bucks offer to star in next month’s show.

Farage said he had “very, very seriously considered” this year’s offer “unlike previous years”.

The former UKIP boss added that he would like to “connect” with the younger generations with millions watching the hit series.

He also claimed that ITV offered him “substantial sums”.

He added: “I’ll tell you why – you have about 10 million young people watching that program every night.

“These are people who may not watch the news or read the newspaper.

“But they still care about their country. The future of young people is broken and they are looking for solutions.

“So in my opinion, if I had done that, I would have been able to connect with that audience, because believe me, everybody watches I’m a Celebrity.

“There are downsides when you do that. I haven’t made up my mind absolutely – but I’m in negotiations about the contract and there will be a final answer in the next 48 hours.”

Last week The Sun revealed Farage was lining up a mega-money deal to take part in next month’s show.

We reported that Farage — who previously said he had been invited “a few times” — was said to be in advanced talks with ITV show bosses.

A TV insider said: “Nigel has been at the top of the I’m A Celeb bosses wish list for years.

“They offered him a huge fee because they knew he would increase the viewership. Ant and Dec will love this signing.

“Nigel is the ultimate Marmite character and won’t hold back in camp discussions.

“It’s a real coup. The casting team nailed it. It looks like it’s going to be a brilliant series.”

It is not clear at this time how much the former politician will earn on the show if he accepts.

The deal, which could be worth up to £1m, was done by 2017 winner Georgie Toffolo’s talent agency — The Visionary Talent Agency.

Boy George was rumored to have received £900,000 for his stint in the jungle last year, and Farage could probably get that much more.

Producers believe his involvement will ensure another hit series after last year’s disgraced former health secretary Matt Hancock was a featured contestant.

Ant and Dec will once again lead the series, which returns to our screens in November.

They have already included jockey legend Frankie Dettori and This Morning’s Josie Gibson.

A source exclusively revealed to The Sun: “Frankie is excited about the jungle but just worried about who’s going to do his hair while he’s there!”

Meanwhile, the insider said of Josie: “Josie is hugely popular with This Morning viewers and the producers were determined to get her.

“She is seen as the perfect person for the jungle as she is already such a familiar face on ITV and will bring her fan base with her.

“She’s incredibly down to earth and people at home seem to like her. Plus, they’re confident Josie will bring laughs to I’m A Celebrity, as she already does on This Morning, and is guaranteed to go down well with most of her jungle friends.”

In addition to Hancock, Farage would also follow in the footsteps of former MPs Nadine Dorries and Edwina Currie and Boris Johnson’s father Stanley.
