Nikola Jokic News

As they take on the Los Angeles Lakers in Game 4 of the NBA Finals tonight, Nikola Jokic and the Denver Nuggets are only one game away. The first trip to the NBA Finals for the franchise is finally within sight thanks to the Nuggets’ commanding lead over the Lakers in this series. The big man is ready and motivated to finish the series sweep, thus Nikola Jokic is available to play in the decisive Game 4.

Jokic is averaging 27.0 points, 14.7 rebounds, and 11.3 assists throughout this series. The great player for the Nuggets has played like the deserving MVP he always was, slicing through the Lakers’ defence with ease while shooting 52.6% overall and 45.5% from 3-point range.

In his previous game, Nikola had a poor start, scoring just five points on two of his first eight shots, including just one of two threes in the first half. Later on in the game, Jokic finished with 24 points (9-of-19 shooting, including 2-of-5 from 3-point range), 8 assists, and 6 rebounds.

Along with keeping his cool and continuing to play by making other contributions to the team’s victory, Jokic’s teammates also performed admirably.

Jamal Murray was exceptional in that he immediately got the Nuggets moving. Murray ended the contest with 37 points (15 of 29 overall, including 5-of-11 from 3-point range), 7 rebounds, and 6 assists. The Nuggets’ point guard came through when Jokic needed him to during his rocky start.

Denver took a 3-0 lead because to timely contributions from Michael Porter Jr., Bruce Brown, and Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, who combined for 17 points, 15 points, and 14 points. Even with the underwhelming performances from the supporting cast, LeBron has had a successful series thus far against the Nuggets. James has posted averages of 10.3 apg, 9.3 rpg, and 23.7 ppg on 48.1% shooting.

The Nuggets must once more work as a team to win this series. In Game 3, the Nuggets limited the Lakers to 45.2% shooting, including 31.3% from beyond the arc. The Nuggets, meanwhile, shoot the ball superbly, hitting 50.0% of their shots overall, including 41.5% of their 3-point attempts.
