NIT Calicut postpones exam

Nipah Virus Outbreak: The National Institute of Technology, Calicut has postponed all examinations that were scheduled during the week due to restrictions imposed due to the Nipah virus outbreak. Also, the authorities decided to switch all classes to online mode. The order was issued following a complaint by the student body to the district collector regarding non-compliance of campus restrictions.

Therefore, the universities had to comply with the instructions of the administrators. Also, some guidelines have been issued for students and staff. Those living in contaminated areas have been ordered not to enter the campus until they are allowed to. Although most students live on campus, some have been asked to attend classes online.

Also, students and staff are advised to wear masks, social distancing and all types of hygiene. Also, students are suggested not to visit places outside the campus.

Also, schools, colleges and other educational institutions in the Kozhikode region have been strictly ordered to remain closed due to the Nipah virus outbreak.

Additionally, the state government has declared a defined containment zone around the area, hence the Beypore port will cease operations until further notice.

Schools in Gujarat closed due to heavy rain

Meanwhile, Government of Gujarat has declared a holiday for all schools and colleges today: 18th September 2023. District administration has announced closure of educational institutions and ITIs in Narmada district. Authorities have ordered the shutdown as many villages in the district are facing floods following the release of water from the Narmada dam.
