National Medical Commission: The NMC has asked medical colleges to submit admission details for candidates admitted to the MBBS first year course for the academic year 2023-24. till October 20, 2023. NMC has reiterated to the faculties that MBBS admissions will be done as per NMC Act and NEET based selection process announced in Graduate Medical Education Regulations 2023.

The NMC said that the colleges should keep in mind the admission capacity, eligibility conditions (in terms of age and marks), normal counselling, etc. while granting admissions.

An official notification from the NMC reads, “In order to effectively monitor whether all MBBS admissions are in compliance with the regulatory requirements, the Commission has launched an online monitoring system. This initiative was made with the aim of ensuring faithful adherence to the enrollment norms prescribed in the regulations as well as promoting transparency and accountability in medical education.”

Details of list of MBBS students to be submitted by colleges

See below the list of data that faculties must submit:

  • NEET UG 2023 Roll Number
  • Category (All India Quota/State Government or UT Administration Quota/Management Quota/NRI Quota/Other)
  • Date of receipt – format dd/mm/yyyy
  • Marks obtained or maximum marks in PCB (10+2)
  • Grades obtained or maximum grades in English (10+2)
  • Marks obtained or maximum marks in PCB Entrance Examination (NEET) and percentile
  • Annual Fees Charged from Students (Amount in Rupees)

Colleges should provide additional details

Also, the colleges will have to submit other information like seat matrix, category of the faculty, seat entry, minority, advisor name and consensual agreement in case of private colleges.

“The burden of providing true, accurate and authentic information rests with the college. The committee will initiate action as permitted by law if it receives notice that wrong/inaccurate information has been given by the competent authorities of the college,” the NMC said.
