At the age of two, she moved with her parents from Paris to Aix-en-Provence. At the age of fourteen, she went to Bali, Indonesia, to live for a year. At the age of sixteen, she returned to Paris to study voice and acting at the Paris International Dance and Theater Academy. In high school, she attended the Florent Academy in Paris, where she studied acting, dance and singing. She dropped out of school to pursue acting.

Nora Arnezede’s father is an Austrian Catholic and her mother is an Egyptian Jew. From her mother’s side, she is a descendant of a Sephardic Italian family that immigrated to Alexandria (Egypt) before World War I. She said,

I grew up with this nostalgia, with the smell of jasmine, shisha and Turkish delight.”

In 1956, after former Egyptian President Gamal Abdel Nasser nationalized the Suez Canal, Sinahi’s family (her mother’s family) moved to France. Sinahi grew up in a bohemian hippie environment.
