NSMQ Central Regional Championship 2023: Regional Participating Schools

The National Science and Mathematics Quiz is an annual national content-based quiz competition in science and mathematics for Ghana’s senior secondary schools. It has been produced by Primetime Limited, an educational advertising and public relations agency, since 1993. The aim of the National Math and Science Competition is to promote the study of science and mathematics and to help students develop quick thinking and reflective and scientific mind about the everyday world around them while fostering a healthy academic rivalry between high schools.

NSMQ Central Regional Championship 2023

The contest, originally sponsored by Unilever’s “Brilliant Soap”, is popularly called “Sparkle” by many who have come through the secondary school system and is one of the few academic events that brings together all of Ghana’s secondary schools. The National Math and Science Contest is the longest running educational program on Ghanaian television. It airs on GTV during the contest season every Saturday at 11 am and Wednesday at 4 pm Three schools compete in each contest and each school is represented by two competitors. Each competition consists of five rounds.

As anticipation builds for the 2023 NSMQ Regional Championships, we take a closer look at the fifteen Central Region schools that will be participating in this exciting event.

On July 6, 2023, the 2023 NSMQ Bono/Ahafo Zonal Championship began with twelve exceptional schools vying for the prestigious title. As the competition unfolds, we look forward to the teamwork, intellect, and problem-solving skills of these outstanding students.
