There had been speculation that the Ukrainian had broken his jaw during the epic fight – something Fury instigated – but his team shot down those rumours.

Usyk, 37, has now revealed the extent of his injuries, revealing his battered hands, cut face and swollen eyes.

Therefore, it is no wonder that the British Boxing Board of Control imposed a suspension on him until June 2, writes BoxRec.

Fury, 35, suffered the first defeat of his career but has the chance to avenge it with a rematch clause in his contract.

And his promoter Frank Warren has confirmed that the dethroned Gypsy King intends to invoke the condition.

Warren told the Press Association: “There will be a rematch. I think it will be better than the original fight.

“They both know each other, have shared the ring and will look to use what they have gained in the fight as an advantage to defeat their opponent.”

The rematch is expected in October in Saudi Arabia.

With all the love to AJ again… these two are head, shoulders and fists ahead of everyone else

OLEKSANDR USYK is deservedly the undisputed heavyweight champion of the world, writes Wally Downes Jr.

The big biggun doesn’t always beat the big littleun, not when David has the weight of a beleaguered nation on his shoulders and is able to swing every countryman at every shot.

Usyk did what Usyk does, moved magnificently, countered and outworked his taller and heavier opponent.

He somehow manages to use every physical disadvantage to his advantage.

But what the hell is Fury doing getting up in the ninth round?

Why is a father of eight with £300 million in the bank, three best-selling books and a Netflix series going down the drain?

Britain does not retaliate against Putin’s army, Morecambe is not occupied.

So, when the 35-year-old’s senses are disturbed, when the canvas calls to him, when he is so desperate not to be taken down that he is ready to jump around all the ropes like a drunk, when he ends up having to collapse in a corner, why doesn’t he just stay down?

He has earned the right to surrender as well as his millions.

The sheer courage, bravery and damned sense it takes to climb off that deck, with a broken nose and a shattered ego, is beyond the comprehension of us mortals.

Fury said he felt he won the fight, but if he was too dignified to call it robbery or corruption, no doubt his father will be soiling that decency by the time you read this.

The rematch will be superb.

Because for all the love we have for Anthony Joshua again – who was in the ring for that iconic event – these two completely opposite men are head, shoulders, fists, heart and brains ahead of everyone else.

And Warren added: “Fury wants to win and he has to win. He’s only looking for a rematch because he thinks he can win.

“He believes in himself and that would cement his legacy. Everyone there thinks Usyk is the best so let’s see what Tyson does.

Oleksandr Usyk did NOT suffer a broken jaw during his win over Tyson Fury as the promoter revealed the full extent of the injury

“He called me and said he wanted a rematch, so here we are.”

Fury’s team suggested that Usyk had broken his jaw, but Warren later confirmed that it was a tooth injury.

He said on talkSPORT: “He’s got stitches in his eye, he’s been hit, they thought his jaw was broken but it was actually a shock [tooth] an implant that caused him a lot of pain.”
