Om Birla was born on 23 November 1962 in Kota, Rajasthan, India (Age as of 2023: 61). He has been actively involved in politics since childhood. As a child, he served as a volunteer for the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, a Hindu nationalist organization. He received his education from the government. College of Commerce, Kota and Mahesh Dayanand Saraswati University, Ajmer, Rajasthan. He holds a master’s degree in business.

Profession
In 1987, he became the district president of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJYM). In 1991, he was appointed president of the Bharatiya Janata Party. In 1997, he served as the National Vice Chairman of Beijing Fitness Movement. In 2003, he was first elected to the Rajasthan Assembly from the South Kota constituency. He also served as Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs in the Government of Rajasthan for four years from 2004 to 2008.
In 2008, he was re-elected from the same constituency. In 2013, he was elected as a member of Parliament for the third time. In 2014, he ran for the Lok Sabha election and won the election in the Kota South constituency, defeating Ijyaraj Singh, an Indian National Congress member from the Kota royal family. During his first term as an MP, he served on the Standing Committee on Energy and on the Petitions Committee and Advisory Committee of the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment. In 2019, he was re-elected as a member of the People’s House and became the 17th Speaker of the People’s House.
He contested the 2024 Lok Sabha elections from Kota constituency in Rajasthan and won for the third time. On June 26, 2024, he was elected as the Speaker of the 18th People’s House of Representatives.
