The column optical illusion features hidden figures that may take some viewers a moment to spot.
The columns can be found at the Phaeno Science Center in Wolfsburg, Germany. They were originally created by David Barker in 1989.

They were created for the Exploratorium, a museum of science, art and human perception in San Francisco. In their original location on the side wall, they saw a lot of traffic.
Barker said of the columns: “I noticed that people, mostly children, would see a shadowy angelic figure out of the corner of their eyes. If they turned around, they would see an illusion.”
At first glance, the columns look like pieces on a giant chessboard.
However, if you look at the negative space between them, you might get an alternate view. These columns are unique because of the space between them that resembles human figures.
At the top of the columns, you can catch what looks like the silhouette of the side of someone’s face.
If you keep looking down the columns, you might also see the “person’s” body shape.
“Simple but effective,” wrote one viewer, describing the columns.
Another person said, “I don’t see angels, I see geishas.”
If you are interested in illusions, this one could reveal some unpleasant aspects of your personality.
Another might reveal whether you’re stronger or more relaxed, and this one might show what kind of brain you have.
Meanwhile, shoppers are desperate for a Fashion Nova optical illusion dress that will make your waistline disappear.
In addition, the presenter sparked a heated debate about her ‘white’ dress, which people are convinced is blue.
