Meenan was found lying on the living room floor “with cuts and extensive bruising to her face, chest, arms and legs,” according to a police news release at the time.

“Doctors told investigators the victim had extensive head and facial injuries and lacerations and bruising to the rest of her body, including her arms, legs, torso and pelvis,” the press release said.

Inside the home, investigators found “blood stains on the kitchen walls, a broken glass oven door, a hole in the wall and the victim’s damaged cell phone on the floor,” according to the news release. “The defendant’s hand, finger and elbow were bruised and swollen.”

Meenan was taken to Phoenixville Hospital, where she died.

The medical examiner concluded that Meenan died of cardiac arrest due to the consumption of cocaine and alcohol, but the cardiac arrest was caused by the severe beating she suffered, the Daily Local News reports.

Brahm’s attorney argued that Meenana’s death was not premeditated and that prosecutors could not be certain that her death was not the result of cocaine use, according to Philadelphia Inquirer.
