Palak Gurlia

Palak Gulia is an Indian air pistol shooter. She mainly participates in 10m air pistol shooting events. She won the gold medal in the 10-meter air pistol event at the 2022 Asian Games in Hangzhou, China.

Palak Gulia was born on Wednesday, November 9, 2005, in Nimana village, Jhajjar, Haryana (age 17; as of 2023). Her zodiac sign is Scorpio. She studied at Sehwag International School, Jhajjar, Haryana and St. Xavier’s High School, Gurgaon. Palak started participating in sports competitions when she was studying in a school in the village.

Her father Jogender Gulia is a businessman. She has a brother and a sister named Jhanvi. Her siblings are twins.

Profession

While in school, she moved with her family from Jhajjar to Gurgaon, where she started training in pistol shooting. She then continued training at the Faridabad shooting range under the guidance of coach Rakesh Singh.

After several years of training, she began competing in air pistol shooting competitions at national and international levels. Some of the competitions include ISSF Rifle/Pistol World Shooting Championship, ISSF World Cup Championship, IJC ISSF Youth Cup Championship, Khelo India Youth Games and Asian Games. In 2023, she ranked 11th in the International Shooting Sports Federation’s women’s 10-meter air pistol competition. She has participated in APW, APMT, APMIX, APTEAMW and other events.
