- Paridi said in an interview that belonging to one of the richest families in the country does not protect a person from sexism. Speaking about the biases she faced as a woman in the corporate world, Paridi said:
I married into a progressive family. After I got married, I completed my studies and started my career. My family gave me tremendous support in the face of resistance from others. In fact, my husband is often criticized for having a “rebellious” wife. He was pulled up for supporting me. “
Additionally, she noted that casual sexism exists at all levels of management,
When we see a man and a woman working together in a company, we think of the woman as the less senior one; the less capable one. We still believe that important meetings cannot be held without people absent. I have met men who would not discuss finance or politics with me because I was a woman. Most of the time, there is only one woman in a room full of men. Women in the workplace, especially those in management positions, face endless challenges. “
