In a new interview for OK! Loose Women magazine panelist Paris, 33, said the boy’s middle name was a tribute to heavyweight champion boxer Tyson’s late cousin Ric Burton, who was killed in 2022.
She said: “All my children have unusual names and obviously it’s very personal to Tyson as well.
“We added my name because I had seven kids and still hadn’t had one named after me, so Tyson thought, ‘Come on, it’s about time!'”
Their family tradition of naming their sons Prince was Tyson’s idea.
When the Gypsy King let the cameras into his family life for his 2020 documentary, he told them: “I’m a king and they’re princes until they earn their real name.”
Rico is the younger brother to their six children Venezuela, 13, Prince John James, 11, Prince Tyson II, seven, Valencia, five, Prince Adonis Amaziah, four, and Athena, two.
Paris said OK! that Venezuela has been very helpful since Ric was born and even stepped in to help the new mom with a magazine shoot.
Paris said: “Venezuela is really interested in the baby.
“She still plays with him and feeds him – I think she sees him as a little doll.
“All the kids are actually very good with him.
“We’re just trying to keep things safe and keep him out of reach because one of them is probably going to try to put him in the doll carriage one of these days!”
She was even more helpful because Tyson ended up missing Rico’s birth.
Paris explained: “Usually he’s with me, but he had to pull out because he’s completely immersed in training at the camp.
“He was there until a few hours before Rico was born.
“Things were moving quite slowly, so it seemed that the baby wouldn’t arrive until the next day.
“Tyson left and my mom came in, she was my other birth partner.
– Soon his dad came in and saw him.
As for the baby’s appearance, Paris thinks he’s a mirror image of his older brothers.
She shared: “He’s dark and has a lot of hair.
“I’m biased, but he’s good looking! He’s really tall, just like his dad. All Furies have long arms and long legs!
“Everyone was very strong in the beginning and they can hold their heads up!
“It’s perfect. I’m smitten with it right now.”
And despite the fact that Rico is Paris and Tyson’s seventh child, she did not rule out the possibility of having more children in the future.
She also refuses to listen to the trolls who criticize them for having so many children.
She said: “Every time we have another one he says, ‘No more Paris! It’s too hard!’
“But then the child will reach nursery age and I always think ‘Oh, I’d like a newborn!’

“I’ve always wanted a big family. I’ve seen a few negative comments saying, ‘Oh, they have so many kids,’ but we take care of them, we feed them, I protect them all.
– Everyone is happy and healthy and everyone loves each other, so I don’t see a problem.
This comes after the pair previously spoke about how they felt in a blissful baby bubble, where the childhood sweethearts said they couldn’t be happier.
In a sweet statement to OK! Magazine just hours after his birth, they revealed: “We are delighted to welcome our baby boy to the Fury family.
“Our boy is the most perfect addition and we are bursting with love for him.
“It’s crazy how you can love someone so quickly.”
They also shared the first photo of their new bundle of joy, with Paris holding the 6lb 13oz baby boy in her arms.
The couple – known for their love of unusual nicknames – have previously spoken about the meaning behind their other children’s names.
However, each of their son’s nicknames also has an additional hidden meaning, according to baby name experts.
Starting with their eldest, Prince John James, the Babynames website says John is of Hebrew origin and also means “God is gracious.”
Prince Tyson II, who was named after his famous father, inherited the meaning of his name, which is “ember” or “fiery ember”.
Meanwhile, their third son is named Prince Adonis Amaziah. Adonis is associated with the word “Lord” and Amaziah represents strong or powerful.
The boy’s sisters also have very unique nicknames.
In a previous interview, Tyson said they decided on Venezuela – inspired by the country at the northern tip of South America – after dreaming up the name.
Tyson told The Guardian: “One night, while I was sleeping, I thought of Venezuela. My wife’s name is Paris. I’m Tyson. If the girl had a normal name, it wouldn’t suit her, would it?”
They named their second girl Valencia Amber, probably inspired by that Mediterranean city.
Valencia translates to “brave and strong,” the baby name pros at Nameberry State.
And their youngest daughter – Athena – is also closely connected with the name of the city.
Name experts shared, “The name Athena is primarily a female name of Greek origin meaning goddess of wisdom and war.
“The city of Athens in Greece was named after the goddess Athena.”
