A black puppy gets stuck in the middle of a busy highway in Rio de Janeiro. Near the cut-off lane on the express bus lane, a frightened dog poses a danger. Worried because the dog stopped and got out of the car before driver Silvio Gomes.
Passengers weren’t sure what happened, but some filmed what happened next.
“As I was leaving Magellan Station, I noticed a dog lying on the ground next to a concrete pit. The dog wanted to jump when I turned around because he was scared.” Gomez told the global broadcaster.
The video shows Gomez calmly returning the dog to the bus. The two got on safely, and the other passengers cheered and clapped.
The dog seems excited to improve the situation. He still wants to be happier.
Gomez told his wife the story after he left the dog at an animal shelter, and she immediately got him “in trouble” for not bringing the dog home. Gomez became a hero again the next day when he adopted the puppy after rescuing it.
In honor of the rescue close to the Olympics, he said he planned to name the dog Olmpicos. When the dog was stopped in the middle of the highway, the bus driver cheered.
