Pat Carroll, actress and comedian died on July 30 at the age of 95. She became famous with the role of Ursula in the animated musical fantasy film The Little Mermaid from 1989. Carroll has also appeared and had regular roles on TV programs such as The Danny Thomas Show, Laverne & Shirley and ER. The organization of her burial is still being completed.

Kerry Karsian, daughter of Pat Carroll, reported that her mother died of pneumonia at her home in Cape Cod, Massachusetts. It is not clear if Carroll had any additional health problems in the past. The Songcatcher actress was also known for a $12,000 breach of contract lawsuit she filed against Hanna-Barbera in 1963. Carroll said she was cast as Jane Jetson on ABC’s animated series The Jetsons. Carroll’s contract stated that she would be paid $500 for each episode in which she appeared.
However, she only appeared in one episode before being replaced. According to reports, the move happened as a result of a sponsored release between Carroll’s Make Room for Daddy and Disney. Carroll made her acting debut in 1948’s Hometown, followed by NBC’s Caesar’s Hour. She received an Emmy Award for her role in the latter, and from 1961 to 1964 she was a regular guest in the comedy Make Room for Daddy. Carroll made guest appearances on various variety programs from 1950 to 1970, including a special appearance on the anthology series The DuPont Show with June Allyson. In 1965, she starred as Prunella in the musical adaptation of Cinderella.
Pat played Lily in the ABC comedy Laverne & Shirley in 1976 and Pearl Markowitz in the CBS comedy Busting Loose. During the 1980s, she appeared regularly on TV programs and did a lot of voice acting in animated series such as Pop Named Scooby-Doo, Galaxy High, Pound Puppies and others. She rose to fame as Ursula in The Little Mermaid, a character she reprized in several video games, a spinoff series, and the Disney+ series The Wonderful World of Mickey Mouse, as well as Disney theme park events and performances.
Carroll was a member of the Actors Studio and participated in various game shows. She had a good theater career and performed in many productions. Carroll is survived by two children from her marriage to Lee Karsian, Tara Karsian and Kerry Karsian. Pat and Lee separated in 1976. Evan Karsian-McCormick, her granddaughter, survived her.
