Patralekha was born as Anwita Paul on February 20, 1990 in Shillong, Meghalaya, India. Her grandmother gave her the name Patralekha, which she used as her stage name. When she was a student, she actively participated in sports and participated in many sports competitions such as basketball, equestrian, and swimming. Her parents wanted her to follow in her father’s footsteps and become a chartered accountant, but she always wanted to be an actress. She has now become a well-known face in the Bollywood film industry.

Patralekha attended Assam Valley School in Balipara, Assam, and Bishop Cotton Girls’ School in Bangalore, Karnataka. She furthered her studies at the Narcissus Monji Institute of Management, Mumbai and the Institute of Human Resources, Commerce and Economics, Mumbai. After completing her studies, she joined Barry John Acting Studio in Mumbai to study acting. She also started working as a model and walked the ramp for various fashion designers.
