Trevor was born out of wedlock due to his mother’s strong desire to have a child.
Patricia did not feel the affection of her parents, which is why she wanted a child who would love her unconditionally. She gave birth to Trevor during apartheid, when marriage with a mixed race was forbidden. Patricia met Robert Noah in her town of Hillbrow, a safe haven for whites under apartheid. At the moment, she didn’t want marriage, but a child. Robert, a Swiss German twice Patricia’s age, denied having a child for fear of finding out, but ended up having Trevor because of Patricia’s persistence.

Her first marriage was full of abuse.
Even after apartheid ended, the cultural mindset that lingered became the cause of her divorce from Robert. She met and married Ngisaveni Abel Shingange, a tall mechanic, in 1992. She realized that she had married a masked guy who appeared kind in public but was violent at home. In front of the public and staff, he started hitting her with bicycle frames. Because of his aggressive behavior, she had to stay in the garden house to escape from him. In 1996, she divorced him.
Even after the divorce, her ex-husband did not spare her and almost killed her with a firearm.
Patricia remarried Sfiso Khoza in July 2009, but her ex-husband did not spare her and abused her. In his rage, he hunted her down and beat her to near death. He shot her twice in the head and lower torso. But, by God’s grace, both bullets passed through her body without hitting any vital organ, artery, vein or nerve. He also threatened Trevor’s life.
A brave mother who raised her children alone despite the circumstances that arose
Patricia is the mother of three children, Trevor from her relationship with Robert, Andrew from her marriage to Abel Shingange and Isaac Shingange from her marriage to Abel Shingange. She raised Trevor keeping him in her room most of the time, away from the eyes of the authorities and the fear that he would be taken from her and placed in an orphanage.

She had to go out in public while pretending to be a foreigner in front of her child. She also had to protect her other two sons from an abusive husband. Her son Isaac was only 15 months old when they moved into the backyard shed, where they lived for seven years. She is a great hero in her children’s lives.
