Paul Walter Hauser knows that anytime can be snack time.
The star, who won Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Limited Series or Movie at the 75th Annual Emmy Awards on Monday for his role in Black birdhe made sure to treat himself a little before accepting the honor.
Hauser could be seen munching on mango slices moments before he was declared the winner. Backstage in the press room after accepting the award, Hauser revealed that the snack choice was an inside joke with his manager and agent.
“We love mangoes [and] my agent handed me a bag of dried mangoes. [I said] if i win this i will eat this. A little salute to my people goes there,” he explained.

Hauser further elaborated that mangoes are a “good luck charm”.
“We love mangoes. My agent at CAA came up with it. He handed me a bag of dried mangoes as a good luck charm, and I said, ‘I’m going to eat this. Whether I win or not, I’m going to eat this on camera,'” he said. is, according to EW.

The award is Hauser’s first Emmy win and comes after he secured the Golden Globe Award for Outstanding Supporting Actor – Series, Miniseries or Television Movie and the 2023 Critics’ Choice Television Award for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Motion Picture/Miniseries, both also for his work on Black bird.
