Pauley Perrette, a former NCIS actress, came to Twitter to provide a huge life update, including a lengthy post outlining how she survived a terrifying stroke. Perrette, 53, claimed in her sorrowful disclosure that she almost died a year ago, on September 2, 2021, from a stroke. Pauley accompanied her post with a video of herself commenting about the incident:
“It’s 9/2 I suffered a big stroke a year ago. Before then, I had lost many dear ones, including my father and cousin Wayne. Despite this horrible existence, I’ve been handed so far, I’m still a survivor… And I’m still thankful, still full of faith, and STILL HERE!”
Perrette went on to describe her difficulties:
“Oh my God, it’s September 2nd, one year after I had a stroke, and I’m still alive… Yes, I’m still here, how many times have I cheated death?”

She mentioned:
“My hair coloring allergy almost killed me. I’m allergic to some foods. I am a victim of domestic abuse and r*pe, and I was attacked by a psychotic, homeless guy and almost died. I’m still here, you know. I’m overwhelmed with gratitude, particularly for my rescue dogs that are nearby.”
The actress also said that she has been struggling for the last two years. Pauley thanked her followers for their continuing love and support, noting that she is “still here.” She stated:
“I’m here, and I’m still here. I’m in a nice mood. In the previous two years, I’ve been through a lot. Things that are more difficult than suffering a stroke… But I’m still here, and I’m thankful. Thank you to all of my supporters. Thank you very much. God bless everyone. I am still present.”
Pauley Perrette revealed her terrifying experience with hair dyes in a 2015 interview with Queen Latifah. She said that she suffered from extreme face edema as a result of an allergic reaction to hair colors.
During the interview, she stated:
“By the time I arrived at the hospital, half of my head was this size, the other half was this size, my eyes were swelled shut, and I thought, ‘People need to see this.’ We now have black hair spray. So I always spray my hair black.”
Pauley Perrette had also posted a selfie of herself from the hospital at the time to update her followers on her condition.
