Actress Pauline Quirk’s friend issued an update of her battle to dementia, saying that ‘she is fighting for the identity of her family members.’
The actress, 65, starred in feathers, sculptress and Broadchurch during a glittering 50-year career.

She was also awarded MBE at the honorary conception of the late Queen in 2022, receiving the award from Prince William at the Buckingham Palace.
But earlier this year, it was announced that Pauline was leaving her professional duties after she had been diagnosed with dementia.
Her husband Steve Sheen issued a statement in which she read: “With a big heart, I announce my wife Pauline’s decision to deviate from all professional and commercial duties due to the diagnosis of dementia 2021.
“Pauline was an inspiration with her work in the film and TV industry, her charity endeavors and as the founder of the very successful Academy of Performing Arts Pauline Quirk (PQA).

“Her talent, dedication and vision have touched a myriad of life and will continue to do so through the legacy of her work and PQA, where her vision and leadership have made it easier for many young people to do for art and improve their confidence.”
Now a close friend of the star has revealed that she no longer recognizes her family.
Maurice Gran, who wrote the birds from the feathers along with Laurence Marks, said Pauline’s star Lesley Joseph started him before the Pauline show’s pension was announced.
Maurice told Mirror: “Last month, Lesley [Joseph] He called me to ask if Pauline’s husband Steve Sheen was in touch.
“I told her no.” Well, “Lesley said,” he went public about Paulina to stop all guesses. “

“Since the diagnosis, its condition has collected the pace.
“She’s still only 65 years old, so your heart goes to her. At first she felt she was starting to lose her grip. Now we understand that she struggles to identify members of her own family.”
Pauline starred Sharon Theodopolopodous in a pen bird, which ran on a BBC and then ITV for almost 30 years.
She was also nominated for Baftas for her roles in Sculptress -ui ITV’s Broadchurch.
In total, Pauline appeared in more than 60 TV films, including Emmerdale and Casualty.
Through her career, she has been nominated for Best TV comedy actress at British Comedy Awards, the best newcomers at the British soap awards and has had more nominations for the most popular actress and the most popular comedy performer on the national television awards.
Ever since she stepped down from acting, the actress launched Pauline Quirke Academy of Performing Arts.
The Academy now has 250 seats with 15,000 students across the UK.
