Pavan Ahluwalia is an Indian investment manager and the founder and managing director of Laburnum Capital, an Indian investment management company. He is the son of Montek Singh Ahluwalia, an Indian economist and former deputy chairman of the Planning Commission of India.

Pavan Ahluwalia began his career in August 1999 as a consultant in the Research Department of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) in Washington, District of Columbia, USA. While working there, he wrote a paper modeling “contagion” in currency markets. He worked there for about eight months before resigning from his position with the company. In October 2000, he joined McKinsey & Company in New York as a business analyst. As part of his job responsibilities, Pawan provides corporate strategic advice to management teams in New York and Mumbai. He has been with the company for about two years.
