Profession

While in college, Pawandeep Rajan read an audition ad for the 2015 singing reality show, The Voice of India. He was selected and won the competition. He received the championship prize along with a cash prize of Rs 50 lakh, an Alto K10 car, and a contract to release his first song with Universal Music Group. After winning the competition, Pawandeep Rajan released his first single, “Yakeen”, with Universal Music Group in 2015. During this time, he was appointed as the Youth Brand Ambassador for Uttarakhand. In 2016, Pawandeep collaborated with Aaron Haroon Rashid on the album “Chholiyar” and sang two songs for the album. In 2017, Pawandeep also sang a romantic song for the film “Romeo N Bullet”. Pawandeep has also performed in several shows in India and Dubai.

On 15 August 2021, during the finale of Indian Idol 12, he was announced as the winner of the show. In addition to lifting the trophy, he also received a car and a cheque for INR 25 lakh. Rajan was one of the six finalists who made it to the finale. After becoming the winner of the show, Rajan admitted that he was upset because he felt that everyone deserved to win. An emotional Rajan said,

I didn’t think too much at the end of the game. There was only one thing in my mind, that is whoever wins the game, the trophy will go to one of our friends. Because we are all one big family. In fact, when I received the trophy, I didn’t feel very good because all of us deserved it. We all plan to continue working together in the future and we will keep in touch after the game. ”

  • Pawandeep started learning musical instruments from a very young age. He started playing the tabla at a very young age and also plays several other instruments like keyboard, piano, drums, tabla, guitar etc. Pawandeep’s performance of dholak in Indian Idol Season 12 was loved by the judges and the audience.
