Pensioner, 75, dies after confronting ‘teen vandalising a car’ and being left with every bone in his face broken

A PENSIONER who was fighting for his life after clashing with a young man over vandalizing his car has died from his injuries, police have confirmed.

Anthony Jacob, 75, had every bone in his face broken after he was attacked outside his home in Weymouth, Dorset.

He went into cardiac arrest before being airlifted to Southampton General Hospital where he was placed in an induced coma in intensive care.

But his injuries were not survivable and he died on Thursday, nine days after the attack.

Lord Jakov was honored.

Friend Paula Hartley wrote: “Thoughts are with the family. He was a skilled tradesman who we had the pleasure of knowing for many years. Absolutely tragic.”

Laura Kennedy said: “To Jake’s family and friends, I think he was a lovely guy.”

The 19-year-old had already been charged with the attempted murder of Mr. Jacob.

Jake Saunders has also been charged with three counts of assaulting an emergency worker, including an ambulance paramedic, and two counts of damaging a Volkswagen Golf.

He was remanded in custody and is scheduled to appear in court on January 9.

The investigation has now been taken over by Dorset Police’s Major Crime Investigation Team (MCIT).

Detective Chief Inspector Neil Third said: “Following the sad death of Anthony Jacob, detectives from MCIT have now taken over this investigation.

“Specially trained officers provide support to the family at this difficult time.

“We are grateful to the citizens who have so far provided information that has helped us in our investigations, and I continue to appeal to all witnesses who have not yet spoken to the police to contact us.”
