Christina Aistrup Hansen (Josephine Park), a nurse, is found guilty of four counts of attempted manslaughter in Kasper Barfoed’s Danish thriller series The Nurse. The series follows Pernille Kurzmann (Fanny Louis Bernth) as she begins her first job at the Nykbing Falster Hospital in Denmark right after nursing school. There she quickly befriends Christina, a fellow nurse whom she loves and respects, but Pernille soon realizes that there is more to her co-worker than meets the eye.
Kurzmann’s revelations about Hansen resulted in one of Denmark’s most shocking prosecutions.
The tragic events of the series are based on the authentic scenario that the Danish writer Kristian Corfixen wrote about in his book Nurse: the real scene behind one of the most notorious Scandinavian criminal trials, contrary to what viewers may believe.

The real Christina Aistrup Hansen was first sentenced to life in prison in a Danish prison on three counts of murder after a trial that lasted nearly a month.
