Peter Mukerjea is a former British television executive. In November 2015, he was arrested by the Central Bureau of Investigation in connection with the Sheena Bora murder case and lodged in Arthur Road Jail, Mumbai. He was charged under various sections of the Indian Penal Code in February 2016 and was released on bail on March 20, 2020.

In 1993, he joined Satellite TV Hong Kong as sales director. Later, he moved from Hong Kong to Mumbai and established STAR TV’s advertising sales department in India. In 1999, he became the CEO of STAR India and served in this position for 8 years.
In 2007, he resigned from STAR India and joined his wife’s company INX Media (now 9X Media) as chief strategy officer, where he worked until 2009.
In 2015, he became an angel investor in Kratos, an on-demand digital advertising platform.

Sheena Bora Murder Case
In 2015, Peter Mukerjea was questioned by Mumbai police over the murder of his stepdaughter Sheena Bora. He claimed he was in Rome during the alleged murder. Later, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) arrested him for his role in the conspiracy. He was detained for some time by the CBI and eventually charged with murder, conspiracy and tampering with evidence. He was released on bail in 2020 after more than 4.5 years in detention.

- In 2015, when the Sheena Bora murder case was being investigated, Peter revealed that Indrani Mukerjea did not approve of Rahul Mukerjea’s relationship with Sheena. He told police that Indrani introduced Sheena to him as her sister. After Sheena is murdered, Peter is shocked to learn that she is Indrani’s daughter.
- On February 23, 2024, a documentary titled “The Indrani Mukherjee Story: The Buried Truth” premiered on Netflix. It shows the life of his ex-wife Indrani Mukerjea.
