Phynjuar Saunders Thomas, better known as the late Dennis Thomas, was an actor, musician and co-founder of Kool & The Gang. He is a flute player, percussionist, alto sax player and ceremonial conductor at his band’s performances. He is known for his roles in The Nutty Professor (1996), 2 Fast 2 Furious (2003) and Nick of Time (2006). (1995). He was one of seven teenagers who helped form the band New Jersey, which became famous in 1964 for its mix of soul, jazz, and funk.
