Ree Drummond is about to become a grandmother!
The daughter of Food Network star Alex Drummond (26) announced on Instagram that she is expecting her first child with husband Mauricio Scott.
“We can’t wait to meet you, baby. 🤍 Baby Scott is joining the fun this winter!” Alex and Mauricio wrote in the caption of their joint post on Sunday, June 23.
“Thank you Lord for this precious gift 😇,” they added alongside photos of the couple posing with their dog wearing a tissue that says “Big Brother” while holding sonogram pictures and grinning at each other.
This will be the first grandchild for A pioneer star, who is mom to Alex, Paige, 23, Bryce, 20, Todd, 18, and Jamar, 20.
Drummond, 55, shared her excitement over her eldest daughter’s pregnancy, writing in a comment below the couple’s post: “Extremely happy for you two!! (And the whole family!) 🥹 Love you Alex and Mauricio!”
Alex’s sister Paige also chimed in, writing: “So happy I could cry 🥹. I can’t wait to be an aunt!!! I love you so much 🤍🤍🤍.”

Alex got engaged to Maurici in 2020, and married on May 21, 2021 at the Drummonds ranch in Oklahoma.
“Our honeymoon is getting married tonight. (TMI?😂),” Ree wrote on social media at the time. While the nuptials were many special moments for the couple, Alex said her father Ladd Drummond’s presence was the highlight, as he had been involved in a truck crash a few months before.
“[My dad] he actually got the go-ahead from his doctor on the Thursday before the wedding to take off the neck brace for some of the special moments on the wedding day,” she later told The List.
“So that was a really special thing, to be able to be there and not wear this big brace, and just experience it,” Alex added.
Although the couple celebrated their first wedding anniversary in 2022, Alex told PEOPLE in early 2022 that she and Mauricio were in no rush to become parents, saying at the time, “I think we’re taking our time and not rushing it, trying to at least enjoy it a little bit.” in marriage.”
In January 2023, Alex and Mauricio announced that they had expanded their family by adopting a dog together. “Our hearts will never be the same! Welcome to the family, George,” Alex wrote on Instagram.
Ree couldn’t resist commenting on her daughter’s announcement that she’s no longer just a mom. “I’m a GRANDMA!!!! 😍😍😍,” she wrote of the adorable animal accessory.
In her social media post about the new pup, Alex shared a carousel of pictures of George, who looks like a golden retriever.
The pictures showed a lively puppy who had already bonded with his new human parents. In the footage, George was cuddling with his family and enjoying car trips and midday naps.
