It took a few weeks for pit bull Bella and tabby cat Lulu to warm to each other, but now the pair are cuddling “every night and day”.
A cute clip of the duo “sunbathing” together has garnered nearly 14 million views on TikTok since it was posted on February 12.
Hannah Wenzel tells PEOPLE she adopted Bella after her first day volunteering at the Wisconsin Humane Society about six years ago.
“I wasn’t going to get a dog, but she’s really gentle,” she says.

Because Bella was a stray, Wenzel didn’t get any background information on whether she was good with other dogs or cats. But since Bella was Wenzel’s only pet, she didn’t worry.
Wenzel didn’t meet Lulu until she moved to Houston, Texas, in September and spotted the kitten eating chicken wings under a table at an outdoor restaurant and bar.
“I thought, ‘Oh my God, we have to take her home,'” she recalls.

At first, Wenzel tried to keep the dogs and cats apart.
“They had a couple of conflicts where Lulu didn’t like Bella,” the pet parent says of the couple’s early days. – She hissed at her and was afraid of her.

Wenzel kept the two pets apart until Lulu was checked for fleas and vaccinated. Then, over the course of two weeks, Wenzel started letting the pets around each other and a bond began to form.
“One day I woke up and they were both in bed with me,” she says. “And now, they just won’t leave each other alone.”
“They play with each other,” she adds. “They cuddle. They get along great.”

Wenzel describes Lulu as a “crazy tabby” who is “always knocking things over” and running around.
“She has no fear,” he adds. “The vet basically said, ‘She’s very confident. … As long as your dog is calm, she won’t have a problem.'”

Wenzel says Bella is “very cuddly” and “sometimes lazy” but with bursts of energy. She is also “very motivated for food and play”.

Lulu’s cat bed is next to Bella’s dog bed, and Wenzel will find them sleeping in the same one.
“They’re like best friends,” she says. “If you can see one of them, you can find the other.”
TikTok users were delighted by the inseparable couple.
“I hope they find themselves in every life,” one wrote, while another comment read: “You really captured the magic.”
