OMG! Pitbull jumps into the Mets’ postseason run.
The 43-year-old rapper will be featured on a remix of Mets second baseman Jose Iglesias’ “OMG,” which will be released on Friday, Oct. 11, as the New York City fan base celebrates their team’s advance to the National League Championship Series.
Silvestre Dangond will also be included in the remix with Pitbull.
Iglesias, 34, has a side hustle as a musician and released a song in June under his stage name Candelita. He first performed it at Citi Field, inspiring Mets fans to adopt the song as the team’s anthem this season and bring “OMG”-inspired signs and merchandise to support the team at games.
The song and music video debuted at No. 1 on Billboard’s Latin Digital Songs chart, USA Today reported.

According to Mets play-by-play announcer Evan Stockton, Iglesias first played the hit song for his teammates in the clubhouse back in April,
“It’s a blessing, it’s a dream come true,” Iglesias said of Pitbull in the remix during an appearance on the Diggin’ Deep Podcast, adding that he is “glad” to be able to “connect with people” through his music.

The second seed said his team reached out to Pitbull’s management in hopes of having him as a feature on the track. Pitbull “instantly fell in love” with the song, Iglesias said on the podcast.
“We got the track the next day,” the athlete said, adding that it was a “privilege” to have the “opportunity” to work with Pitbull and Dangonda.

The Mets beat the Philadelphia Phillies 4-1 on Wednesday, advancing to the next round of the MLB playoffs with the World Series in their sights. After the win, the team celebrated with champagne in the clubhouse as they danced to Iglesias’ hit.
“The @Mets celebration wouldn’t be complete without the entire team singing OMG,” Fox Sports wrote in a post sharing footage from the epic celebration on Xu, formerly known as Twitter.
Friends and family, as well as fans, of the team were prepared for the festivities with their own “OMG” signs at Citi Field. Team owner Steve Cohen was also seen holding a sign with the title of Iglesias’ hit song.
