Pokémon GO: Joltik Spotlight Hour Guide

Pokémon Joltik will appear in Pokémon GO Featured hours of the month. During Spotlight Hour, Joltik’s spawn rate will go up a lot, unfortunately Joltik can’t be found as Shiny. But players can still choose to catch as many as possible in hopes of developing something powerful. Joltik is the third Pokémon out of the five noticed Pokémon GO During August, a more frequent event will occur on Tuesday, August 16, 6-7 p.m. local time.

Joltik will only evolve into Galvantula once and the process requires 50 candies. Trainers who just want to fill another Pokédex slot don’t need to catch as many Joltiks as they do during other Spotlight hours. When looking for rapid evolution, trainers should make sure to stock up on Poke Balls and Pineapple Berry. Razz Berries will make it easier to catch Pokémon when hunting high CP Joltik. To get more Poke Balls quickly, players can use Perfume for Adventure Daily Pokémon GOa new feature that allows Trainers to claim free Poké Balls if they have less than 30 in total.

Highlights Hour events come with unique individual rewards of the day. For Joltik’s highlight hour, trainers must earn double candy on successful catch. This perk can be used outside of Joltik, as this could be the perfect opportunity to stock up on candy for other Pokémon. For example, a player targeting Galvantula, catching 9 Joltiks during that time, will provide enough candies for one evolution.

How to fight Joltik in Pokémon GO

Joltik is a Bug and Electric-type Pokémon that easily evolves into Galvantula, has the same type and uses 50 candies. Galvantula is weak only to Fire and Rock-type moves, and resists Melee, Steel, Grass, and Electric attacks. Resistance to Steel works well in this month’s Pokémon GO Raid Hour battles and makes for a good coverage option for Pokémon GO vs Alliance matches.

If the player wants Galvantula to have both Bug and Electric moves, the best move is the fast-moving Volt Switch and the Buzz charged move. As an Electric attack, Volt Switch is very effective against both Water and Flying attributes. Bug Buzz is a Bug-type attack that is also very effective against Psychic, Shadow, and Grass types. Trainers also have the option to switch the Volt Switch to Fury Cutter, another attack bug. Team Rocket Sierra can be seen in Pokémon GO having many weaker Pokémon than Electric Attacks and using Galvantula against Sierra Pokémon GO Will allow the player to defeat her.
