Police Searching for Chiefs' Rashee Rice After His Car Was Involved in a 6-Vehicle Accident in Texas

A car believed to belong to Kansas City Chiefs shortstop Rashee Rice was involved in a six-vehicle crash in Dallas, Texas on Saturday.

Authorities said Dallas morning news that they have been searching for the wide receiver, 23, since Sunday because a Chevrolet Corvette believed to be registered to or somehow related to Rice was at the scene of the incident.

In a statement to PEOPLE, a Dallas police spokesman said the Corvette and Lamborghini were speeding in the far left lane of the northbound 6600 block of North Central Expressway shortly before 6:25 p.m. local time.

“The drivers lost control and the Lamborghini went over the shoulder and hit the median wall, causing a chain collision involving four other vehicles,” the spokesman continued.

They added: “The occupants of the Lamborghini and Corvette all fled the scene without stopping to determine if anyone needed medical attention or to provide their information.”

Two people in the other vehicle were taken to a local hospital with minor injuries, the spokesman confirmed.

Meanwhile, two other drivers were treated at the scene by the Dallas Fire Department for minor injuries, they added.

Rice, who played in the 2024 Super Bowl as part of the champion Chiefs, played college football at Southern Methodist University in Dallas before being selected by the Chiefs in the 2023 NFL Draft.

A representative for Rice, as well as a representative for the Chiefs, did not immediately respond to PEOPLE’s request for comment.
