Pranshu (2007-2023) was an Indian social media influencer who made headlines after committing suicide. He openly identifies as transgender and supports the Pride movement.

Pranshu (queer) aka Priyanshu Yadav aka Priyanshu Yaduvanshi aka Pranshu Yadav was born in 2007 (age 16; time of death) in Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh, India. He studied at Ujjain Public School. While studying in school, he became a social media influencer.

His father’s name is Rajendra Yadav and his mother’s name is Preeti Yadav, who is a medical representative. Priyanshu’s parents separated in 2019, after which Priyanshu started living with her mother. He is the only child of his parents.

He started making Instagram videos in 2021, often teaching makeup. His mother was surprised when he told her that he wanted to be a makeup artist; however, she recognized his enthusiasm because she was amazed by the work of Pranshu’s favorite makeup artist and YouTuber, James Charles.
Over time, he became popular for his makeup tutorials and often promoted many makeup brands on his Instagram page “Glamitupwithpranshu”. At the time of his death, he had over 25,000 followers on his Instagram page.

Pranshu posted a video on Instagram on the occasion of Diwali 2023 in which he was seen wearing a saree and was ridiculed by many.
He committed suicide by hanging himself with his mother’s dupatta at his home on November 21, 2023, at the age of 16. He was in tenth grade at the time. He allegedly took the extreme step because he faced hateful comments and trolls on social media. Following his death, many in the LGBTQ+ community took to social media to demand justice and express condolences over his passing. Several rallies were also held to pay tribute to Panshu. His mother said after his death that she was proud of her son and felt lonely after his death.
Indian transgender actor and content creator Triinetra Haldar Gummaraju posted on Instagram that social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram and Twitter are not safe for LGBTQ+ people.
