After the trailer of Adipurush was released in October 2022, Sutar received a lot of criticism for the poor visual effects of the film Adipurush. Meanwhile, the producers and actors of the epic mythological film have also been charged for hurting the religious sentiments of Hindus. Following the backlash, the film’s producers issued a statement on Twitter delaying the film’s release. Film director Om Raut wrote:
In order to bring a complete visual experience to the audience, we need to give the film team more time. “Adipurush” is now released on June 16, 2023. We are committed to making a film that India will be proud of. Your support, love and blessings are the driving force for us to move forward.”
Six months later, a new trailer was released and the internet was once again flooded with memes and feedback. People compared the images from the old trailer to those from the new trailer and concluded that there wasn’t much of an improvement.
