Pratibha Singh Baghel

Pratibha Singh Baghel is an Indian singer and theatre artist who made her television debut with the music reality show Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Challenge (2009). She is also known for the songs Tak Taki and Rajaji from the film Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi (2019). She played the lead role of Umrao Jaan in the play Umrao Jaan Ada- The Musical and the pivotal role of Bahar in Mughal-e-Azam: The Musical.

Pratibha Singh Baghel was born on January 4 in Rewah, Madhya Pradesh, India. At the age of 13, she started learning Indian classical music from her mentor, the late RJ Pasana. At the age of 18, she obtained a degree in the field of music, also known as “Sangeet Prabhakar”. After that, she studied music for some time with Dr. Suhasini Sathe.

In 2014, she participated in the music reality shows; Zee Cine Stars Ki Khoj and Zee TV’s Mega Challenge. She has since been a voiceover singer in films such as Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhaniya (2014), Zid (2014), Luckhnowi Ishq (2015), Bollywood Diaries (2016) and Shorgul (2016). In 2017, she played the role of “Bahar” in the stage play Mughal-e-Azam: The Musical, which won various accolades including the Best Indian Play at the Broadway World India Awards (2017).

In 2019, she sang the songs ‘Rajaji’ and ‘Tak Taki’ in the film ‘Manikarnika: The Jhansi Ki Rani’ and was loved by the audience. In the same year, she played the mesmerizing role of ‘Umrao Jaan’ in the theatre production ‘Umrao Jaan Ada- The Musical’. The show was held to packed houses not only in Delhi and Mumbai but also in London. The show received a rapturous response when it was staged at Sadler’s Well Theatre in London.

She lent her voice to Amazon Prime’s Bandish Bandits (2020).
