Preeti Desai is a British actress and supermodel. She is known for her roles in films such as Shore in the City (2011), One on Two (2014) and Stunt Double (2020). She is a former Miss England (2006-2007) and the first woman of Indian origin to win the award.

Preeti Desai was born on Tuesday, September 29, 1981, in Middlesbrough, North Yorkshire, England (42 years old; as of 2023). Her zodiac sign is Libra. Preeti received her early education at St Augustine’s RC Primary School in Coulby Newham, then attended Nunthorpe College in Nunthorpe, before furthering her education at Middlesbrough College, where she studied hair and beauty courses. After completing her formal education, Preeti continued working in salon management for three years. She also worked in her father’s fireworks shop. At the age of 25, she left her home in Guisborough, North Yorkshire, and moved to London to begin her modeling career. After becoming Miss England, Preity moved to Mumbai to pursue her modeling and acting career.

After being crowned Miss Cleveland, Preeti Desai participated in the Miss Great Britain beauty pageant in 2006 in the United Kingdom. Pretty eventually won the title and became Miss Great Britain 2006-07. However, Preeti was not the first choice. Danielle Lloyd was the original winner; however, she was stripped of her title once it was discovered that she had a conflict of interest with a judge. After Danielle was toppled by the scandal, a vote was held to choose the next winner, with Preti Desai garnering huge support to be crowned Miss Great Britain. She then moved to London to fulfill her duties as Miss Great Britain Ambassador.

In 2008, after completing her ambassadorship, Preeti moved to Mumbai to become a fashion model. These assignments made her a known and beloved face, further earning her appearances on various covers, while also making her way up the ramp for several fashion designers. Preeti Desai first made her mark in Hindi film with the crime drama Shor in the City (2011), in which she played a character named Shalmili. Critics loved her performance in the film so much that she was even nominated for Best Actress in a Leading Role at the South Asian Rising Star Film Awards presented by SAIFF and HBO in New York in October 2012.
