When Preeti was 14, her father Somveer and uncle Vinod Pawar encouraged her to join boxing. She objected to the idea and initially refused to participate. In an interview, she stated that her response to her father and uncle was,

Main nahi karungi, boxing toh bilkul bhi nahi (rough translation: I will never start boxing).”

Six to seven months after starting training, she competed and won a medal. In 2021, she joined Inspire Sports Academy, which started sponsoring Preeti. Here she trained under head coach John Warburton. Preity participated in the 2023 IBA Women’s World Boxing Championship but was eliminated before the quarter-finals.

Preeti Pawar represents India in the 2022 Asian Games (the 19th Asian Games, commonly known as Hangzhou 2022). She participated in a 17-day international training camp held in Wuyishan, China. After the training, she said:

I’m totally ready. I played against different teams.According to the type of sparring [available], I feel like I can beat everyone. It’s important to get used to the weather here before racing. The important thing is that we also get used to the weather. ”

Preeti defeated Kazakh boxer Zhaina Shekerbekova to qualify for the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris. This victory brought her to the semi-finals of the women’s boxing 54kg category, but she lost 5-0 to Chinese player Chang Yuan. Preeti Pawar in association with JSW Sports.
