Facts/Trivia
- In an interview, the Aashram actress told the media how she protected two girls and busted a child trafficking ring in Mumbai. She recalled a friend approaching her and telling her that two little girls in the salon were wearing unusual clothing. Preeti immediately sprang into action and reached her destination. What follows is a drama in which women’s rights win and the police are called. Explaining the entire situation, she narrated:
I live near the salon where the two girls were brought and prepared to fly to the United States. At about 1:30 pm on March 4, a friend of mine told me on the phone that two little girls were in a beauty salon in Versova, and there were several people nearby who were putting on makeup, and they were discussing sending them to the United States. The girls look innocent and unaware of their fate. After learning about the situation, I rushed to the scene and found the girls leaving the bar and two men waiting outside. There was a car belonging to them parked outside the bar. It was then that my doubts grew stronger and I began to face them. I asked the men who were rushing to leave the scene. The girls told me they were from Gujarat, and when I asked them about their parents, one of the four men asked me what my relationship was to them. He told me that the girls were brought to the bar because they were attending a wedding.
She further said,
I stopped them and called the police before they tried to leave. When the police arrived, I told them what happened. Police then took the men to Versova police station. “
- When asked about her experience auditioning for different opportunities, she recounted:
Some would say I’m too fair for the role, while others would say I’m too young/too old. I have so many questions but no answers. To make matters worse, I was replaced at the last minute of the movie and told it was because I was prettier than the heroine! “
