Pregnant Suki Waterhouse Says Red Valentino Gown Had to Be Tailored to 'Fit the Bump' at 2023 Emmy Awards

The mom-to-be paired her pregnancy glow with a Valentino dress

Suki Waterhouse embraces maternity fashion at the 75th Primetime Emmy Awards.

The Daisy Jones and six actress, 32, stepped onto the red carpet of television’s biggest night in a red Valentino gown with cutouts, showing off the back and sides of her baby bump, which featured a bow at the bottom and included pockets.

Waterhouse, who recently announced that she is expecting her first child with Robert Pattinson, told the Hey! News that the designers had to “really redesign the dress” to flatter her pregnancy shape.

“I was really excited about this look, Valentino. I tried it on a few months ago, but it wasn’t even—like, I had to hold it. The adjustment was that I just held it against my body, so they had to really take it apart and they had to redesign this dress to fit the bump,” she explains. “But it did and I’m really happy it worked.”

Pregnant Suki Waterhouse bares her baby bump in a bikini in tropical holiday photos: ‘Life is a beach’

Waterhouse showed off her baby bump as she posed on the beach, attended the 2023 Fashion Awards in London and flashed a bit of sparkle, all after announcing her pregnancy in November.

The news came at the Corona Capital Festival in Mexico, where the musician and actress addressed the crowd in a sparkly pink mini dress.

“I’m extra radiant today because I thought it might distract you from something else going on,” she said in a clip shared by a fan on X (formerly Twitter), before opening her coat to show off her baby bump. “I’m not sure if it works.”

Waterhouse, who has been in a relationship with Pattinson for more than five years, also sparked engagement buzz in recent weeks when she was photographed wearing a diamond ring. A source confirmed their engagement to PEOPLE, adding that “they both want to be married. That’s important to them.”

A source also told PEOPLE in November that the couple is “very serious and serious” about expecting their first child together. “The arrival of the baby is an absolute joy for them,” the source said. “They are delighted beyond description.”

“They are ready for a child and looking forward to becoming parents. Even though they are both working professionals, it is something they want,” another source added.

“They know their lives are going to change and they’re excited.”
