Pregnant Woman Sells Her Tickets to Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour for $4,000 — and Now Her Sister-in-Law Won’t Talk to Her

The Taylor Swift fan who sold her Eras Tour tickets is seeing what she did – because she now has bad blood with her sister-in-law.

A 31-year-old pregnant woman from San Diego recently took to Reddit’s popular forum Am I the A—— to ask if she was wrong to sell her expensive tickets instead of giving them to her 29-year-old cousin.

The woman bought the tickets in late 2023, when Swift, 34, added more North American tour dates. Then she asked her sister-in-law, who was “never a big” fan, to come and they agreed to go together.

“Fast forward a few months and now I’m expecting a baby,” the mom-to-be wrote, adding that she’s due Dec. 7 and the tickets were for a Dec. 6 show in Vancouver, Canada.

“At first I was adamant that I would still try to come to the concert, but I soon realized that it was simply not in my plans,” she added. “I offered her to take the tickets if she wanted to bring her daughter, who is grown up [Swiftie] and she said she didn’t want to go if I didn’t go.”

Weeks passed before she told her sister-in-law that she wanted to sell the tickets.

“She tells me she’s still going with or without me and that her nail technician wants to go with her, which puts me off a bit because it’s my tickets, not hers to decide who gets to use them (she never even offered to let me pay face value for them), she explained.

MELBOURNE, AUSTRALIA - FEBRUARY 16: Fans of Taylor Swift, also known as "Swifties" photograph their tickets purchased for a show at the Melbourne Cricket Ground on February 16, 2024 in Melbourne, Australia. Taylor Swift's global Eras Tour is a cultural and economic phenomenon, breaking records and generating billions of dollars in revenue. With its sheer scale and fan frenzy, the tour cemented Swift's status as one of the most influential pop stars of the 21st century, and her impact will likely be felt for years to come.

As the crazy love between the “best friends” faded, she sold the tickets.

“Long story short, I sold tickets for a total of $4,000, which will be the perfect little nest egg for me while I’m on maternity leave,” she said.

The pregnant woman now claims that her sister-in-law has not responded to everything she sent her, including ultrasound pictures, has stopped sharing her location on Find My Friends and does not want to attend her baby’s birth.

“Since then, she has completely stopped communicating with me. Before this, we were mostly best friends,” she concluded.

In the comments on the post, many Reddit users sided with the mother-to-be.

“Your [sister-in-law] got greedy and you got a backbone so… her loss lol,” one reader responded. “Your tickets, your rules. Congratulations on the baby and the big bucks you got for your tickets.”

Another person left a less favorable response, writing: “I stopped reading when you said you sold $4,000 worth of tickets. [You’re the a——] for that.”
