Preview: Crossover Blitz
Hi guys, it’s your local pirate friends (I’m known to be involved in some swashbuckling piracy…) here today. Break the shack on the ocean because we’re previewing today, yarrrrr… It’s got pirates. And card!
Today’s game is flash throughDeveloped by Tako Boy Studios, is a classic style inspired deck builder with heater and a little Magic: Gather was also thrown. But…. pirate! If you’ve played other CCG-style deck building games (like the ones I mentioned), you already know the basic formula and flash through It’s easy to pick up and play, but the game offers plenty of help if you need it. The sides form a deck of different types, attributes, and effects, and you spend energy playing them trying to lower your opponent’s HP to zero before they do the same to you.
One of the more notable differences in game mechanics is the game’s combat phase, known as Blitz. Unlike many similar games, every minion you have on the field that can attack has to do so, instead of picking and picking. Also, the card’s HP does not recover after the battle. So where you place your cards on the battlefield and when you choose to use them is an important part of success or failure, because once you start, you have to stick with it. These mechanics also make the battle quite fast, which is good because card games often take a long time to play. flash through Besides the competition for me, there’s also the passion for it. In the demo I played, I played a pirate named Redcroft who was held captive by Princess Eingana and if successful, I offered to give her a job in exchange for his freedom.
Accompanied by his crew and companion Rigbeak and guardian of princess Abraxas, you’ll travel through colorful themed pixel art skins and maps, to the tunes of several tracks excellent pirate music (if a bit stereotypical) and enjoyed the wide range of narration. Fun and funny Action scene of the story. On the map, you’ll encounter enemies to battle, and new card shops and relics provide important modifications to your gameplay.
In the demo, only one of the two main characters is playable and only in story mode. When the game is released (no date at the time of writing) it will offer two main characters, as well as a battle mode and a different and random roguelite style mode each time you play, which I found it particularly appealing, so unfortunately I didn’t try.
Now, I’ve said before that card battles are an oversaturated genre. However, I think flash through Making the most of its theme (ARRRrrrr), it’s very engaging and fun, so when fully released it could have the potential to stand out in the sea of games of its kind (Yarharhar…). I may just be a pirate geek, but if you ask me, this movie is worth watching, guys!
