Princess Beatrice and Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi Step Out for Royal Christmas Day Outing

Princess Beatrice was surrounded by special people on Christmas Day.

Princess Beatrice, 35, attended church on Christmas Day with members of the royal family accompanied by her husband Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi as they walked to St Mary Magdalene Church in Norfolk near the royal residence Sandringham House.

Edo made his Christmas debut with the royal family in 2019 after the couple announced their engagement. Although the couple was supposed to get married in May 2020, the COVID-19 pandemic forced them to cancel their original plans. Instead, they exchanged vows in a very small ceremony in July 2020, attended by Princess Beatrice’s grandparents, Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip.

Princess Beatrice brings stepson Wolfie to Kate Middleton’s Christmas concert

Unlike last year, Beatrice was not joined by her 7-year-old stepson Christopher Woolf. Wolfie, as Princess Beatrice’s stepson is affectionately known, made his Christmas debut with the royal family in 2022 and has attended other events such as Queen Elizabeth’s platinum jubilee in June 2022. Earlier this month, Wolfie attended Kate Middleton’s third annual Christmas carol concert at Westminster Abbey with Princess Beatrice and Ed.

Edo shares Wolfie with his ex-girlfriend Dara Huang, an American architect and designer. When Princess Beatrice and Edo announced the name of their daughter Sienna Elizabeth a few weeks after she was born in September 2021, they added that “Wolfie is the best big brother for Sienna.”

In honor of World Book Day 2021, Princess Beatrice spoke with Evening Standard about how reading has been a big part of her life during quarantine amid the coronavirus pandemic and something she shared with Wolfie.

“I had the great honor of becoming a stepmom this year and had an amazing time reading some of my favorite bedtime stories,” she wrote. “We had such a special time together reading all the entries for the 2020 Oscars Book Prize.”

Although Wolfie didn’t join the royal celebration this year, he was a different kind of special guest. For the first time since the early 1990s, both of Princess Beatrice’s parents were there.

Prince Andrew continued to join the royal family at family events despite stepping down from his royal role in 2019 and his mother stripping him of his military titles and patronage in 2022 over his links to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. But his ex-wife Sarah Ferguson joined the church trip this year. The couple separated in 1992 and divorced in 1996, so Fergie (as the Duchess of York is known) hasn’t joined the royal family for a Christmas outing in many years. However, Prince Andrew and Fergie remained very friendly and devoted co-parents to their two daughters, even continuing to live together at the Royal Lodge in Windsor.

Princess Beatrice and her sister, Princess Eugenie, have been Christmas walks to church since they were young girls – when they memorably matched or coordinated together! In 1997, the sisters – wearing matching hats and green skirts – smiled from ear to ear as they tried to carry the small gifts given to them by the townspeople.
