Priya Tendulkar is an Indian actress, activist and writer. She starred in the hit Indian television series Hum Paanch (1995); aired on Zee TV.

Her father, Vijay Tendulkar, is a famous Indian writer. Her mother’s name is Nirmala Tendulkar. Her brother, Raja Tendulkar, is a cinematographer. She has two sisters, Tanuja Mohite and Sushma Tendulkar, who is also an actress. Her father died in 2008 and her mother in 2001. Her brother, Raju, died in 2002 and her sister, Sushma, died in 2012.

During her school days, she played the role of a doll in the play Haya Vadan (1969) along with Kalpana Lajmi. At the age of 15, she appeared in a television commercial for sewing machines. In 1974, she made her Bollywood debut in the film Ankur. She acted in many films such as Minchina Ota (1980), Nasoor (1985), Besahara (1987), Mohra (1994), Trimurti (1995) and Gupt (1997).
She gained popularity for her role in the Indian Television’s television serial Rajani (1985).
She appeared in various Hindi television series such as “Yug” (1996), “Itihaas” (1996), “Hum Paanch” (1995) and “Professor Pyareral” (1999).
She has hosted popular talk shows ‘Priya Tendulkar Talk Show’ and ‘Zimmedar Kaun.’ She has also appeared in various television commercials.

She died of a heart attack at her Prabhadevi home in Mumbai on September 19, 2002. She also suffered from breast cancer for a long time.
