Priyank Kharge is an Indian politician and member of the Indian National Congress (INC). He was elected as MLA from Chittapur Assembly constituency for two consecutive years in 2013 and 2018. He is the son of Indian politician Mallikarjun Kharge.

Priyank M Kharge was born on Wednesday, November 22, 1978 in Bangalore, Karnataka (44 years; as of 2022). His zodiac sign is Sagittarius. Political career

In 1999, he joined the Indian National Congress (INC). He served as Secretary of Karnataka Youth Congress from 2005 to 2007, Secretary General of Karnataka Youth Congress from 2007 to 2011, and Vice Chairman of Karnataka Youth Congress from 2011 to 2014. Later, he was appointed to the Karnataka Congress Speakers Committee (KPCC).

2009 Karnataka Assembly by-elections

Priyank Kharge contested from the Chittapur Assembly seat in the 2009 Karnataka constituency elections but lost. BJP candidate Valmiki Nayak won the seat defeating Kharge by a margin of 1,606 votes.

In 2013, he contested and won the Chittapur Assembly seat, defeating the BJP candidate Valmiki Nayak by a margin of 31,191 votes. In 2016, he became the youngest minister to be sworn in to Siddaramaiah’s cabinet. In 2011, Hager came to public attention when he announced that he would hand over 4,000 square meters of land. The ft plot in the HSR layout was allotted to Congress leader N. Dharam Singh by the Bangalore Development Authority (BDA) when he was chief minister.   • In 2011, Priyank Kharge’s sister Priyadarshini Kharge hit the headlines for purchasing a 3,280 sq ft land on January 15, 2002, allegedly in violation of the society’s bylaws. In 2002, Mallikarjun Kharge served as Home Minister in the Congress government led by SM Krishna.
