Priyanka Chaturvedi was born on November 19, 1979 in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India (age 39 in 2018). She was educated at St. Joseph’s High School, Juhu, Mumbai and received her Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com.) in Accountancy from Narsee Monjee College of Commerce and Economics, Mumbai. She studied Entrepreneurship Studies at the Indian Business School. Priyanka has always been an avid reader. She also runs her own book blog, interviews authors, reviews books, updates her followers on book events, and organizes book launches and other book-related events. Apart from being a book blogger, entrepreneur, columnist and social worker, Chaturvedi is also the spokesperson of the Indian National Congress. She has also been selected for the expertise program of ISB (Indian School of Business) 10,000 Women Entrepreneurs program supported by the Goldman Sachs Foundation for Women Entrepreneurs.

After graduation, Priyanka started her career as a Director at MPower Consultants, a media, PR and event management company. She is also a columnist, expressing her views in various newspapers and online websites. She is also a trustee of two NGOs working to empower women and provide education to underprivileged children. In 2010, Priyanka entered politics and was appointed secretary-general of the Indian Youth Congress Party. Gradually, she became popular on social media for supporting and defending Congress policies, and was eventually appointed as the national spokesperson of the Indian National Congress. She is often seen on television advocating for women’s empowerment, children’s rights, education and health. She is listed among the top ten female politicians in India.
On April 19, 2019, she quit the Indian National Congress and joined the Shiv Sena.
She was reportedly unhappy with Congress reinstating some party workers in Mathura who had misbehaved with her during a press conference. In her resignation letter to Rahul Gandhi, Ms. Chaturvedi said,
Over the past few weeks, something has convinced me that my services are not valued within the organization and that I have reached the end of the road. At the same time, I also felt that my own self-esteem and dignity would be compromised the more time I spent in the organization. “

- In July 2018, a 36-year-old man from Gujarat threatened to rape Chaturvedi’s daughter on Twitter. She took immediate action and filed a complaint against him. Within hours, Mumbai police tracked and eventually arrested the man.
