Pro-Palestinian protesters clash with cops outside McDonald’s while huge crowd swarms train station as scenes turn ugly

PRO-PALESTINIAN protesters clashed with police outside a McDonald’s – after huge crowds thronged the train station for a “day of action”.

A line of police blocked protesters from entering a McDonald’s branch on Oxford Road in central Manchester on Saturday.

In London, crowds gathered outside Downing Street and staged a sit-in at Waterloo Station.

The Met Police said they had arrested six people at pro-Palestinian protests.

The alleged offenses include breaching bail conditions, public order, racially motivated public order, incitement to racial hatred, affray and disorderly conduct.

British Transport Police arrested at least five protesters who refused to leave Waterloo despite the ban.

Dramatic images show rows of police officers lined up in an attempt to contain the demonstrations inside the station.

Police officers were also seen blocking protesters from re-entering the traffic station as scenes turned ugly.

Assistant Chief Constable Sean said: “Earlier today protesters announced their intention to protest simultaneously at 10 busy train stations across London.

“Major protests at railway stations risk a serious threat to the safe operation of railways and a serious impact on communities.

“This weekend, BTP again issued orders prohibiting gatherings on property at these 10 stations.

“My officials and I will always respect the right to protest, but this cannot be at the expense of serious disruption.

“Everyone has the right to feel safe online, but train stations are not suitable places for protests.

“In line with our strategy, notices were issued to the protestors and announcements were made over the station’s public address system before the officers moved to the arrest phase.

“The vast majority of protesters left peacefully. However, five were arrested at a large protest at Waterloo Station.”

The force issued Section 14a orders banning protests at many of London’s mainline train stations today.

However, the Met Police said those who dispersed from London’s Waterloo then walked to Westminster Bridge to stage a sit-in.

Meanwhile, a large number of protesters gathered in Whitehall opposite No.10.

Pro-Palestinian protest organizers planned a national day of action instead of the big marches in central London that took place over the past weekend.

Prime Minister Rishi Sunak called for tougher protest laws after last weekend’s violent scenes, which included far-right supporters of Tommy Robinson brawling near the Cenotaph.

Police also admitted their “regret” after officers were accused of “standing by” as pro-Palestinian activists scaled a war memorial.

Meanwhile, seven people have been charged after chaos erupted in central London on Armistice Day when protesters clashed with police.

Police have arrested 145 people after missiles and fireworks were fired at their officers amid clashes on the streets of London.

Cops are also sharing numerous photos and videos online of people accused of anti-Semitism – saying they will arrest more people.

In one of the most harrowing incidents, a woman approached a group holding Palestinian flags and signs as they argued with a passerby.

She appeared to take a side of the group and began shouting over them before screaming, “Death to all Jews.”

The protests come as Israel continues to hunt down Hamas terrorists in Gaza after vowing to crush the group after the terror group massacred 1,200 civilians on October 7.

This has caused Palestinian civilians to flee for their lives as Israel tries to destroy Hamas.

Families living in Gaza have found themselves in a brutal crossfire, with regular accusations that terrorists are trying to use them as “human shields”.

Much of the northern part of the Strip has been turned into a devastated war zone – with buildings destroyed, supplies dwindling and the people of Gaza suffering terribly.

The Red Cross estimates that around 1.5 million civilians have been forced to flee south due to the Israeli attack by land, air and sea.

The death toll remains unverified – but Hamas health officials claim more than 11,000 civilians, including more than 4,500 children, have been killed.

Israel disputes these figures – and US President Joe Biden has said he has “no confidence” in them.

But Benjamin Netanyahu admitted that Israel “has not been successful” in reducing civilian casualties.

But he said that Hamas – not Israel – was to blame for the death.

And as the horror continues, there are growing calls for a humanitarian ceasefire to stop the bloodshed.
