ROYAL ANTWERP star Eliot Matazo was involved in a fatal road accident that killed an elderly cyclist.
They say that the midfielder, who is on loan from Monaco, was seriously affected by the incident.

His club confirmed that police gave Mataz saliva and alcohol tests, both of which were negative.
It is believed that the cyclist, 85, ran a red light and Matazo was unable to avoid the accident.
A press release from Antwerp states: “This morning, Eliot Matazo was involved in a serious traffic accident with a cyclist. According to initial findings, the cyclist may have been blinded by the sun and ran through a red light.
“As is common in these types of accidents, Eliot was tested for saliva and alcohol and both came back negative. There is also no indication that she was speeding.
“Without wishing to prejudge the accident investigation, all elements, including witness statements, point to an unfortunate accident.
“Eliot has been extremely affected by the events and neither the player nor the club will be making any further statements until the investigation is complete.
“Our thoughts go out to the cyclist and his family, and Eliot and the club hope for a happy outcome.”
Fans responded by sending well wishes to Mataz, with one saying: “Good luck to all parties involved. Hopefully no one will be seriously harmed by this. You can fix the means of transport, but your mind and body are much harder.”
Another added: “Brave Eliot!”
And a third said: “Poor guy, the start of his dream career and everything after that
“I hope everyone does well in this story.”
