Puducherry government announces quota for students
Puducherry Government Health Quota: According to media reports, Premier Puducherry N Rangasamy has announced reservations for students. He announced that he would provide 10% horizontal reservation to government school students for admission to university medical courses in Union territory.
The move was decided at a cabinet meeting chaired by N Rangasamy. He added that formal approval from the Deputy Governor is required in this regard. There have been requests from various regions for the government to introduce a horizontal 10% reservation in medical education for the benefit of graduates from public schools.
AIADMK recently presented a memorandum to the Minister seeking horizontal reservation for the benefit of students in rural areas and also students from poorer sections of society.

Meanwhile, Pondicherry University is about to begin the application process for admission to graduate and diploma programs for 2023-24. According to an official announcement released by the university, applicants who have appeared in the CUET PG 2023 exam for Postgraduate and PG Diploma programs will be invited to apply online. Candidates who have passed the CUET entrance exam are eligible to apply for admission.
However, the authorities have started the application process for the 5-year Integrated PG Admissions application based on the CUET(UG) – 2023 results. The application deadline is July 27, 2023. On the other hand, the Ph.D. Applications are now closed. Unable to grant additional extensions.
